Mineral Springs Park Now Home to More Smiles

Thanks to the City of Iuka Mayor & Board of Alderman and a large donation by the Pilot Club of Iuka, Mineral Springs Park has new playground equipment for those in wheelchairs.

“This has been a long time coming and we are thrilled that the City and Pilot Club worked together to make this dream a reality. Not only is there a new wheelchair swing, there are other pieces of equipment for those that can’t use the other playground equipment”, said Mayor John Castleberry.  It was a special day as city officials, Pilot Club members and the family of Brittany Broad gathered to try out the new addition to the playground.  “To see the smile on Britt’s face and the tears of happiness flowing from her mom Katherine, it made my week,” said Aldermann Kenny Carson.

“We are so thankful to those who helped make this happen.  Britt is already making play dates,” said her mom, Katherine Broad.

Special “Thanks” to Josh Clingan and the city workers for installing the equipment.  The City respectfully request the wheelchair swing be used by those in wheelchairs.
