Shelle Allen is serving as a first year Director of Pilot International for 2024-2025. In 2015 she became a proud member of Pilot Club of Jacksonville, IL, in the Midwest District. At the club and
district level she has served as Governor, President, Secretary, Treasurer and several other leadership roles. At International she has served on the Helmet Committee for the past 2 years.
In her education and professional career, Shelle received her BS in Education from MacMurray College. She was the Executive Director for a Community Based Pre-School for many years
and when it closed, she decided to go back to accounting at Illinois Road Contractors Inc. She also is the South County Jr. High Cheerleading Assistant Coach and in her free time, she works
at Famous Footwear (She loves shoes & so does her twin nieces)
Pilot is just one of Shelle’s passions, her other big spotlight is on Families Fighting Flu, a nation-wide organization. In 2014 she became a family member, 2016 she became a director of the
board and from 2019-2022 she served as President of FFF. She travels around the United States to do speaking engagements on behalf of her family and FFF. To educate & advocate for
the importance of flu vaccinations. Shelle says what her and other families do is put a face to the flu in the hopes that no other family will have a story like theirs. She says FFF is like a club,
and they are lucky to have it for support and to know that they are not alone, but unlike Pilot, they do NOT encourage members to join.
Shelle’s hobbies include reading, junk shopping, photography, spending time with her family and watching their nieces & nephews play their sports, Chicago Cubs, St. Louis Blues, volunteering
and anything Disney.
Shelle and her husband Steve met when she was a junior in high school and they have been together for 32 years. They have 1 adult child, who is 26-years old and lives in Beverly Hills,
Florida. They have 2 fur babies, a dog named Swayze and a cat named Gus (loves Dirty Dancing & Cinderella.)
Loves quote and 1 of her favorite quotes is from Audrey Hepburn… “Nothing is IMPOSSIBLE, the word itself says I’M POSSIBLE”.
