Pilot International prepares to help in the wake of Hurricane Ian

Pilot International prepares to help in the wake of Hurricane Ian

Pilot International is preparing to send financial aid to Pilots impacted by Hurricane Ian with funds donated to the Safe Harbor Disaster Relief Fund. Hurricane Ian is moving toward the west coast of Florida as a Category 3 storm with forecasters expecting it to strengthen into a Category Four. Its track shows the storm is moving eastward, with remnants expected to impact Georgia's coastline this week.

As Pilots, we are charged with helping others find their “True Course Ever” and navigate their way through the rough waters of life. With determination and compassion, we stand ready to help our communities and the world at large face obstacles, overcome challenges and weather the storms. But there are times when it is our fellow Pilots who need us most.

In 2018, Pilot Club members in Japan and the U.S. experienced torrential storms, leaving many stranded and in shelters. The historic rainfall in Japan triggered flooding, landslides and mudslides that claimed hundreds of lives and devastated entire communities. Thanks to the generosity of friends of Pilot International and members, the Safe Harbor Fund aided many Pilots after these unforeseen events, to assist with surviving and rebuilding.

Safe Harbor Disaster Relief funds are specified to help pay for limited types of essential living expenses, which are:

  • Medical expenses not eligible for reimbursement by insurance
  • Housing
  • Utilities
  • Food
  • Clothing
  • Shelter
  • Other Basic Necessities

Pilot International Founders Fund relies on the generous support and contributions of members and friends of Pilot International. Contributing to the Pilot International Safe Harbor Disaster Relief Fund is easy and it is tax-deductible. Take action today!
