Pilot International, a leading community service nonprofit organization with a membership of over 12,000, is seeking a skilled leader to oversee all business aspects and help guide the organization toward future success.  The Executive Director will be responsible for strategic planning & analysis and implementing policies.  The Executive Director will be a confident and natural leader with problem-solving skills and nonprofit operational experience.  The successful candidate will have at least three years’ experience in a senior management position with strong knowledge of administrative and leadership principles as they relate to nonprofits. Reporting to the Executive Committee, the Executive Director (ED) will have overall strategic and operational responsibility for Pilot International’s staff, programs, expansion, and execution of its mission.

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field required, graduate degree in a relevant field preferred

  • Technology skills with experience in membership and donor software
  • Marketing and public relations experience
  • Collaboration and negotiation competency
  • Prior experience working with volunteers.


  • Monitor the financial stability for the organization.
  • Advise and make recommendations to the Executive Committee with respect to programs, finances, marketing, and policies.
  • Serve as a non-voting member of the Executive Committee Council and Budget Committee.
  • Encourage professional development for staff.
  • Maintain a knowledge of developments and trends in the nonprofit field.
  • Maintain and develop community relationships to further the best interests of Pilot International.
  • Execute contracts and agreements as authorized by the Executive Committee or established through policies, bylaws, or government regulations.
  • Expand and cultivate donors.
  • Implement Pilot International’s strategic plan.
  • Execute other duties as may be delegated by the Pilot International President.
