Such efforts include: supporting the Go-go Club, The Bahamas Association for the Physically Disabled, providing computers and typing lessons for the residents of the Willie Mae Pratt Centre For Girls, outfitting school libraries, and creative arts centres, and visiting homes for persons with disabilities and for the aged. Through its various fundraising efforts, some clubs offer scholarships and work closely with other s ervice/volunteer organizations –such as REACH, The Salvation Army, R.I.S.E., The Red Cross and Special Olympics (just to name a few). Aligned with Pilot International, Pilot Clubs in the Bahamas chiefly focus on promoting programs related to brain-related disorders and disabilities. The first club in The Bahamas was chartered in 1974 and there are now eight Clubs throughout the archipelago of Bahamian islands. The Bahamas attained District status in 2003 and has 220 active pilots. The Bahamas is also the home of some 15 Anchor Clubs which allow young people to make a dynamic difference to their schools and communities through volunteer service and FUN.
